Hilary Swank on Attending Birthday of Accused Chechen Human Privileges Violator: 'Shame on Me' (VIDEO)

It's been a tough two several weeks for Hilary Swank. The 2-time Oscar champion was at the middle of an worldwide scandal in October when she attended the birthday celebration of Chechen leader Razman Kadryov, an accused human privileges violator that has allegedly wiped out lots of their own people. Within the fallout from the event, Swank received a lot of bad press and was apparently fired from her pr firm she also fired her lengthy-personal time management team. On Friday evening, Swank spoke concerning the mess the very first time to Jay Leno. Within an interview on 'The Tonight Show,' Swank described how she ended up in Grozny on March. 5 for Kadryov's special birthday. Swank's now-fired manager, Jason Weinberg, was apparently approached about Kadryov by Human Privileges Watch before she attended the big event, which -- at that time -- he wasn't even conscious of. Still, Swank told Leno that no matter who understood what, she's ultimately responsible. "Shame on me," she stated. "The end result is which i ought to know where I am going and that i must do my research. [...] I really did not know Chechnya was outside of Russia. I'd no clue." Swank, who had formerly apologized for that event, stated that she's now dealing with human privileges groups and contributed the money gained from Kadryov's birthday to get affordable causes.
