'Sugar Guy,' 'Imposter' add sales

LONDON -- London-based sales outfit Protagonist Pictures loved a strong Sundance this season, finishing a raft of worldwide sales on "Trying to find Sugar Guy" and "The Imposter." "Trying to find Sugar Guy," a docu concerning the obscure legendary rock icon Rodriguez, was clicked up by ARP for Gaul, additionally to formerly introduced deals for U.S. (The new sony Pictures Classics), Blighty (Studiocanal) and Oz (Madman). Protagonist co-repped the pic with Josh Braun's Submarine. Bart Layton's "The Imposter," a docu in regards to a Frenchman who convinces a grieving Texas family that he's their missing teenage boy, seemed to be scooped up by Diaphana for Gaul and Madman for Oz and Nz. As formerly reported on Friday, Revolver Ing. and Picturehouse Ing. became a member of forces to get U.K. privileges towards the docu. United States privileges around the pic are now being handled by Submarine and CAA, who're being debated with U.S. purchasers.
